How We Test Every Batch of UP&RUN, No Shortcuts
Electrolytes come from earth and sea sources, which means salt and minerals can carry along more than sodium and potassium. Heavy metals like arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury show up naturally in soil and water, and salt is not automatically exempt. A 2023 analysis of unrefined gourmet salts found every sample tested exceeded permitted lead levels. Other studies have flagged similar issues across commercial pink salt brands. No salt type gets a free pass on this. That's why testing isn't optional for us, it's the baseline.
What We Actually Test For
- Heavy metals, every lot, for arsenic, lead, cadmium, chromium, and mercury
- Microbial safety, bacteria, yeast, and mold, relevant given how humidity affects storage and transport in India
- Mineral accuracy, verifying sodium, potassium, magnesium, and iodine actually match the label
- Packaging integrity and moisture, because a sachet that absorbs monsoon humidity is a sachet that degrades before it reaches you
Where and When We Test
Raw materials arrive with supplier COAs and get rejected if they don't meet spec, before they ever touch production. During manufacturing, we run COA checks in real time. After each batch completes, a third-party lab runs final verification before anything gets packaged.
This isn't a single checkpoint, it's raw material, mid-production, and finished product, three separate points where a bad batch gets caught before it reaches a shelf.
Why This Matters More Than It Sounds
We drink this. Our families drink this. That's not a slogan, it's the actual reason the testing bar is where it is. If we wouldn't hand a sachet to our own kids without knowing exactly what's in it, we're not shipping it to yours either.
The Bottom Line
Every batch comes with documentation. If you want to see it, ask, we'll show you. Quality you can't verify isn't quality, it's a claim. We'd rather you check.
